Hi

I live in Cardiff and I’ve been woodturning for quite a while, but it was only last week that I made my first ever pen. I’ve made a couple more since and even managed to ruin one, (at least I’ve learnt that those things are really hard to pull apart and it’s best to get it right first time).

Anyway I think I’m a little bit addicted already as I found it much more enjoyable than I thought, plus there’s much less sweeping up!

I am delighted this forum exists with such a wealth of resources and I hope to be able to make some useful contributions soon.

Nice to have you with us Ash, yes, pen turning is very additive, you need deep pockets, patience, and plenty of medication.
Always have fun, but be safe. May we see your pens?

Welcome Ash.
Plenty of good advice on here.
There are ways to disassemble pens, which sometimes results in them not being destroyed.

Have fun.
Oh and as John said, pictures please.

Hi

Thanks for the welcome. I have a feeling I will definitely need to learn how to disassemble pens properly. I was sulking for about an hour afterwards, which is very unlike me!

And I’ll post pics today.
