    Another Newbie!

Although Iím new to the forum Iíve been turning pens on a casual basis since last year. Iíve been working with wood for years and scratch build our home furniture and spend many hours wood turning in general. Iím fortunate to have good power tools in my ďman caveĒ which is my second home now Iíve recently retired!

I have two wood turning lathes which are a large Poolewood and a nice small Record. I also have a Myford M300 metal work lathe as well.

Iíve joined the forum as I am committed to expanding my knowledge and experience in pen turning and in particular with curing my own resin blanks. In my previous job I used to be a Dental Technician and worked extensively with resins due to making and repairing thousands of dentures! It will be nice going back to working with resin once again and with Christmas almost upon us, Iím looking to buy a used pressure pot.

I look forward to liaising with you fellow pen turners from here on for help, hints and tips!

    Regards

    Arnold9801

Hi Mark AKA Arnold welcome in to the forum mate from over here. Please find a pic of keepsake I made for a mate who quit being a major player in the Dental Industry and has become a big time Auditor on major construction Defense Projects hence the wiper arm from a hard disk since he is computer dependant now and the Dental Handpiece stripped of its internal function and using a Slimline kit makes a beaut pen. The timber tip end is made from Hairy Oak timber that went nearly transparent . His pride and joy on his desk at work.

    Kind regards Peter.

Hello Mark. Welcome to the forum.
You know your old when your sweetie says "lets go upstairs and make love" and you reply "honey, I can't do both."
