Hi all, just wanted to say hi. I'm new here but have been turning for 40 years. I am just starting to get back I to the groove of turning, standing and balancing myself at the lathe after my 4th amputation in the last 3 years.

I think I have work for 2 months out of those 3 years. If it wasn't for pen turning and wood turning and the support from guys at my local guild I don't think I'd be here still. It has taken its toll, physically, financially and mentally.

It could be worse. At least I'm saving money on pedicures and I can't stub my toes. I have posted 3 of my most recent pens. Let me know what you think. Putting my best foot forward, the right one lol and starting to rebuild again.

Cheers
Bdar/Darren

Welcome to the forum, Darren.
There are a few other Aussies here as well.
Whereabouts in Australia are you?
I lived in Orange NSW for 12 years and spent some time on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.
Enjoy your time here. You have posted some lovely pens already so I hope to see more soon.

Welcome aboard Darren. It’s good that you’re back in harness again. Enjoy your turning, you’re among friends. Just keep taking the tablets & you’ll be fine.:banana::banana:
