I need to make somebody a gift for a 60th birthday present. I had in mind a decanter stand, turned to hold a round bottomed decanter. I believe that they are known as a Hogett.

Does anybody know where nice decanters like this can be purchased without an existing wooden base, or is it a matter of just discarding that part. It seems a shame and a waste to do so, but I would like to make this part to personalise the gift.

Well if they are to expensive do as Brian said there are loads on ebay at a fraction of the price
