Just had a package pushed through the door from the postwoman and a red sticker says Customs Fee to Pay. There was £3.08 Vat and £8.00 RM handling fee to pay and another sticker saying this package cannot be delivered until the charges are paid. I don't know whether it is a mistake or what, but nobody has asked for any money. They may hold the next package until all fees are paid.

that is odd- I have only ever had a card when there is a fee to pay.

That's what happened with the last one, had to go and pay and collect.

They will be knocking on the door asking for payment or the parcel back. "Sorry sir what parcel" not signed for so no proof of postage:whistling::whistling::whistling:

We know our postwoman well and that's exactly the kind of thing she would do to save us a trip to the sorting office but in our case I'd always pay up as she would get into trouble otherwise.

I am sure a letter will pop through the letter box also Peter .. What gets me is why some post a card telling you of a package that needs to be collected after charges have been paid, then others deliver the package then a week or so later you get the charge .. :nooidea:

What package Peter? :whistling::wink:

It was a mechanism for a piston filler and some breather tubing.

I much prefer that they deliver and I pay rather than have to drive 4 miles to pay and collect.

Drama? You must have a gas powered TV.

The Postie has just put a card through for the 3rd package they want £15.38 which includes £8 for RM. Hopefully it contains a kit I have never had before.
