Take a guess
Whilst talking with Woody yesterday we got onto the topic of Facebook & the fact that I no longer have an account, which is a long story in its self.

I'm guessing that the answer to this question is no,but here goes, is there anyway of getting a new Facebook account without supplying your mobile phone number (which I'm not willing to do) or scanning your birth certificate etc (as I don't have a scanner) & if I'm honest I don't see why Facebook needs this level personal information when to my knowledge no other social network does.

:thinks::thinks:

That must be a reasonably new thing. I never had to give them that info when I signed up, but that was years ago. Yes they keep asking but I won't give it.
Do what Brian suggested. Give them a false number :wink:

Can't help Doug, Facebook is the bane of my life at the moment!

Windows 7 crashes the moment I click on Facebook.
Firefox lasted a couple of weeks before it happened, Chrome is now doing the same. Internet explorer says I have a more current edition installed than the latest download, and keeps putting up a load of sh#te in the news.:nooidea:

Trying to sort it out, can't give a false number as a text is sent with an activation code to the number given, this must all be fairly new as I didn't have to do this when I originally set up an account though from what I've read Facebook don't like pseudonyms so Shy tot has definitely bitten the dust :funny:

go to Tesco and pick up a sim card for £0.99 fit and register it to your phone. use it for all the crap stuff then take it out and put your real one back in.
Next time an app wants your number do same again init?
Or give em someone else's number and ask em to text the confirmation code to you.

Went down this route thanks Brian, did it on my sons phone eventually after having to first find it then charge it before I could turn it on :nooidea:

So finally up & running again:banana::banana::banana:, even managed to send out some friend requests though confused slightly as some previous friends don't appear to have a "send friend request" button :nooidea:
