Not long been back from our Local Woodturning Club. Steve Heeley was demonstrating and I must say if ever you get the chance to see him get yourself along as I personally found it well worth while. Apart from his Cool Humour he can't half use them chisels well. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

He's a Black Country lad a he Vic?

If he's the chap I'm thinking of he's certainly a very down to earth bloke with as you say a good sense of humour, he's also a genuine full time turner making his living from woodturning

Local Wood groups are a wonderful source of new faces and ideas I have never regretted my membership of associations etc over the years it sure broadened my experience remembering one French turner the effect was we all made and used his tool of choice the Bedan he used as we would the Skew the downside is so many visiting experts sell the prospect of unlimited success with this and that tool I do have buckets full still as proof of this. ShangriLa, end of the Rainbow occasions are worthy ones.
