Pierre if you did all that in one day I am impressed with your stamina.

Normally it is only a day's work but this year in 25 degrees it was only half of that (plus I'm 65 now and am slowing up) ie the front section, but the main bulk had been cut, split and drying since last year so all I had to do is just cut 1 metre lengths on the chop saw that you can see and stack the 50cms. the total pile is 6.5 cu metre and there is another 2 to do for winter then in Oct Nov I shall cut and split another 8 cu metres into 1 meter lengths for drying for next year.

I fitted a carbon tipped blade to the chop saw that you can see and it really shifts through the wood at high speed.

They say wood warms you 3 times once when you cut it 2nd when you stack it and 3rd when you burn it!! :winking:

Tell me about it , no rain since 10 jun the well has dried up, there is a prefectural ban on watering and it hasn't dropped below 30 degrees (daytime) since jun until today when it went finally to 28!! Even the pool is still at 28 degrees:goesred:

Achievement in that wood pile, everready wood stack Pierre, should be cosy this winter. Our third wettest yr so far all dams full, mildest winter. Now to enjoy the spring and then summer.

Peter.
