My wife's new 12" iPad Pro, keyboard and pencil is amazing. Her old 2nd.gen iPad is not as responsive as it used to be so when she has finished transferring everything then I will clean it and see about a restore, but the new one is fast and responsive, thinner and absolutely better to view things on. It takes 4K video and I am sure my daughter and granddaughter will both want one, but they won't be getting one from me:ciggrin: It is a very impressive iPad.

I've had a play with one, a very nice bit of kit eh.

You'll still get some good mileage out of the 2nd Gen after a refresh, I'm using my original in the workshop to stream Spotify and pull up reference material on the web when required. The battery still holds up too amazingly.

Yes, once it is cleaned up it should be as fast as it ever was and like yours, the battery is still really good. That's not a bad idea to use it in the workshop.

If you do I can recommend picking up a 3m power cable, makes positioning it and charging whenever needed a lot easier than the original short cable. The sheathing on mine had degraded as well, as they all do.

I've been very happy with my iPad 3 and the battery still holds a really good charge. Things move on though and it's five years old now so I'm going to look at the new 10.5" iPad Pro in a couple of days. Next up will be a new 4K iMac I think.

Just had a quick look at the iPad Pro 10.5. It seems a lot thinner and lighter than my iPad 3rd Gen.
