Well it has been a while since I posted anything, but seen as how I am currently unemployed and on sick (I partially amputated my left thumb a week before my employer dismissed me for my union stance, Red Robbo rides again. Apparently I should have been shopping my colleagues for CCTV breaches. It's a damn long story)
Any roads, this is a wee review on a MW2168GS 1.2V - 12V auto detect Universal Ni-cd/Ni-mh Battery pack charger, that's a right mouthful, so MW2168 from now on.
First off, I am not employed by the manufacturer or the supplier, and it is a review of my experience, I am not responsible for any decision you make based upon my review. It is up to you to make an educated choice based on your own experience and your own needs.
In 2015 I lost my Air Pro charger, there is a post on this forum, just search Trend Air charger. So after a little research and given the price of the Trend replacement, I stuck my neck out and bought a MW2168 at about a tenner inc P&P. Well 2 years on it is still in regular use, I set it at 300ma and I charge ad hoc, sometimes overnight, but mainly for a few minutes and or hours whilst I am in the shed. There has been no sign of overcharging, no overheating it just works. I've said it now. The Air pro works just fine, it still beeps when running low, yes it is annoying, but it has worked just as efficiently as when I had the Trend charger.
So there you have it short and sweet, the MW2168 works for me, it saved me money and is available from various outlets throughout the UK. It is mainly used I believe by the model vehicle fraternity, as it was a model shop I bought it from.
Hope some will find this useful should they ever need a replacement charger.
