So.... I have been to my wood turning club tonight which I alway enjoy I can always learn something....and tonight I won a wooden leg in the raffle... :goesred:

So come on experts what can I do with this... it’s about 16” long with a hole all the way through....

Well the obvious is a table lamp as you have a hole right up the middle. Either turn this for the stem and make a base or leave this as it is with a little clean up to keep the patina and then make a base and try to age it to match.

ARRR shiver me timbers that is lovely end grain,like the lamp and it would make beaut pens cut across the grain, turned bowls,Lace Bobbins,Bottle Tops,Knife handles.Great gift mate.

The leg is a nice piece of oak & I think the obvious choice is a lamp or a pen if Phil can supply a kit with a 20mm tube.:funny:

Is it tapered? It looks like it from the image.

Like others have said, it would make a nice big pepper grinder, although I don't know what the kits are like and whether you would need to adapt them.

I have made a tall Oil Candle in the past, which went down well as a gift for the missus :thumbs:
