Happy New Year everyone. I hope Santa was kind to one and all and that the new year brings all that each of us hopes for.

For myself, I've decided that Christmas day and New Years Day falling on a Monday is the ideal arrangement. It seems to maximise everyone's time off for those who are lucky enough to not have to work between the two. It's possibly the worst possible arrangement for productivity and the economy, but there is plenty of downtime to be had for those able to take advantage of it.

....which I did. In fact the 2nd is a public holiday in Scotland too, possibly because everyone here is just too hung over to make it back to work until the 3rd. But today IS the 3rd, so back to work for me it is and I've seen masses of fine pens being posted here over the last several days, and some great discussions. Last pens of the year, really the last pens of the year, first pens of the year, pens from people who don't care what part of the year it is.

We have also had a number of new members join us in recent weeks, who have embraced the spirit of the place and seem to have their slippers well and truly under the table. It has been a pleasure to be involved in the Forum in recent times, and I hope that it continues to grow for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone here throughout the year.

Happy 2018 to one and all.

Same here from me to you Phil and everyone on the forum.

It was a funny one for me this year as I'm not going back to work for the first time in 42 years :thinks: mentally I still can't get used to it, but I'm sure I will sooner or later.:winking:

Thanks for all of your support on here Phil, its much appreciated by the many not just the few..to coin a phrase

You will soon be saying "Did not know when I had time for work" with all the bits that you will be doing(are able to do hope things don't get in the way too much Eamonn)
