Well, fresh final coat of Melamine Lacquer put on a set of boxes today just as my mate popped in to pick up a few things.

He was very interested in what I was doing and said why don't you use car lacquer, I explained that melamine dries faster than the standard acrylic and cellulose car lacquer.

After about 5 mins he decided to stick his big fat finger on the top of one of the boxes to see if was dry..:vangry::vangry: Why oh why! :vangry::vangry: WTF did he expect..

Now this sums up the mentality as if he really knew how to test if things were dry then surely he should have touched the edge or the side of the box.. No, not him:vangry:

Straight in the middle. :vangry:

Oh well, :rant::rant:over..

I'm just waiting until he is decorating and will pop round for a drink..:wink:

Same here Eamonn
Spent days rubbing down, sanding, filling, more sanding, undercoat and then final top coat on the handrail and spindles on our stairs.
Really pleased with the result as it was as smooth as glass :pray:
Signs all over DO NOT TOUCH WET PAINT
Then my son comes in and slaps his hand on the banister and asks “Is it still wet” :vangry::vangry:
Looks at his hand and says “oh it is isn’t it” :sob:

You meant was not dry after 5 minutes you should know better everything has to be done in double quick time even the drying:face::face::face:

That is why no one goes in my workshop when I am finishing

You can tell someone there are a billion, trillion stars in the sky and they will believe you.

Tell them something is wet.......

I work in schools and can still remember......
After freshly decorating a classroom the teacher brought all the kids through to show them (ages 6/7). Signs all over saying "WET PAINT" this little lad touched the wall with the palm of his hand, on realising it was still wet bent over and wiped his hands on the brand new carpet!!
Thank God it was just emulsion:sob::sob:
