The main reason being we are renovating the house :thinks:

SWMBO has put her foot down and my excuses no longer work so the jobs had to be done :sob:

First off the stairs (or rather the handrail / banister had to be ripped out

Then the new one had to be cut/modified/altered to fit :vangry:

Total nightmare as nothing lines up, the stairs are at an angle to the opening, every single spindle had to be slightly modified to fit correctly and look right.
Think I have a LOT more grey hair now than when I started :2cry:

Getting toward the end now, all the painting has been done, awaiting new carpets now :rolling:

Hopefully I will be allowed back into my workshop soon to have a play :thinks:

NOTE: NO idea why the pictures have turned sideways...They were the right way up on my PC :thinks:

Rather you than me, I would have made it out of steel.:goesred:
Looks great.:thumbs::thumbs:

Did look at the S/Steel and Glass but it just wouldn’t of looked right in this house, it was built in the late 40’s early 50’s so totally out of place to be honest.
Gone for a Plain English Oak and most importantly the Mrs is very happy with it :pray::pray:
