Where has that time gone?

Just over 2 years ago I turned my first item – an egg cup for Sue(wife)....

Since then I have turned a whole range of different items, with the help, guidance and encouragement of the woodturning community, family and friends.

I would like to thank everyone for enabling me to grow as a woodturner and put up with the numerous postings about my hobby!

I have been and continue to be surprised and humbled by the genuine interest and support from everyone – on Facebook, Instagram, my website and in person.

aboutthegrain.com has attracted over 1400 new visitors since May (now over 4,400 people have visited the website!), with Instagram growing from 86 followers in January to 786 today…. Crazy!!!

Apart from the incredible support I receive from my friends and family, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on all the people in the woodturning community that have either inspired me, supported me (club members and mentors) or advised me, to enable me to grow in this hobby….

Alan Wesley, Peter Brown, Steve Church, Stewart Furini, Anna Cates, Barrie Fitch, Gordon Eaton, Chris Grace, John Plater, George Foweraker, Jozef Košík, Ed Oliver, Mike Waldt, Gary Lowe, Yuval Lahav, Martin Sabin-Smith, Les Thorne, Jon Arnold, Mike Way, Chris Fisher, Andy Coates, Mark Sanger, Tim Yoder and Mick Hanbury.

Below is a photo of the first item and my latest one.

Thank you everyone for your continued interest and support!
