    Nice present

Not anything finished. But what would you say if this turned up as a Birthday present. The slabs it is sitting on are 18" square yew and holly and with the promise of more different woods

    Happy Birthday Derek!
I can't decide whether to be a good example, or a horrible warning!

    Thank you all.

I sealed the wood straight after taking the photo. The Yew has been down 3 years and he said the holly about 2 years but it did seem very wet still. Will try to get around to slabbing it and cutting vase type blanks as soon as possible then more resealing.
