Selling items frustration. Not due to the buyer....

Sold my little Draper lathe to a fellow member of this forum who paid me instantly. Great

Went in Parcel Hero website and arranged a collection, they offered a Parcelforce collection for Dec 31st, delivery to Alex on Jan 3rd. Superb!!!

Here I sit, still waiting for the lathe to be collected......

Tried to contact Parcel-FARCE, selected the correct options to be cut off as the automated voice tells you to get help on their website. Strange how their website caters for everything except a driver not showing up.....

So I email ParcelHero. They tell me there were no collections for Dec 31st. I checked Parcelforce website on the day of collection and the status was...."Delivery and collection drivers are out on their rounds as usual." So someone's lying.

So ParcelHero tells me it will be collected today, Jan 4th. Still no driver.

So I've sold a lathe for £75 and lost over £300 in wages waiting for a courier. The ironic part is that Parcelforce's depot is literally 2 minutes around the corner from me.
All I get is a tracking number from ParcelHero which equates to nothing on the Parcelforce website.

The internet is an amazing thing but these companies are using it to their advantage by not being able to call them and giving you completely useless "help pages" instead.

I am absolutely fuming and Alex, if you read this post, I apologise profusely for the late parcel. I will try to claim back some or all of your delivery charge. If I'm successful I'll send you it back via paypal. Don't hold your breath though.....

I will never again use ParcelHero. Oh, and if you look through their help pages, there's a little script at the bottom asking "did you find this helpful?". 12 yes, 364 no on one of them and no better on the others

    Just one more pass......OH Bo***cks!!!

I sympathise with you and Alex, transport companies are the bane of my life.
Every thing I get is freighted in by road. The last parcel I got sat the post office in Alice from 24 Dec to 4 Jan, our mail comes on Greyhound buses who does the north run 365 days a year.

It's a bummer when carriers let you down. I think you were a bit unlucky with the timing unfortunately, being new years eve, but the lack of care or help in putting it right is unforgivable. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time - it's how they deal with it and correct the problem that sorts the chaff from the wheat in my opinion.

    Hi all

I donít think you can do any better than DPD. They have never let me down, nearly minute by minute updates. If there any any problems they let you know. On their website a map is shown of where the driver is and what number drop you are.

Everyone makes mistakes and I concur with Philís comments and philosophy. Some companies couldnít care less as long as they have your money.

I do feel for you though; been there, done that.

    Cheers
