    First demo

Well... had my Blue Peter moment last night - was asked to demonstrate colouring at Mid Cornwall Turners - was nervous as it was my first ever time demonstrating! Everyone was very kind and said that they enjoyed it... didn’t spot anyone yawning which was a plus!

I think demonstrators should be praised and anyone who has never done it should be thankful someone will.

    Everyone’s and expert and critic.

I love to pick from demonstrations little hints and tips.

Why do demonstrators never do like you do in business hand out “happy sheets “ looking for anonymous feedback ?

They get easier with each demo you do. I like to demo because I always learn something from the audience. It's give and take sharing your knowledge.

The nerves don't leave even after a few. I have done some demonstrating and it is the things like did I miss anything. I always layout everything in the order I intend to talk about them.

Well done Steve. I’ve done demos at the club & on at our hands on sessions where you can share & swap info.
    An enjoyable experience.

Its definitely not for the faint hearted! In a room of very experienced turners.... but they were very attentive and kind...

Cheers Terry - I think I over prepared... which saved me a couple of times when things didn't go quite to plan....

Cheers Derek! I had a sort of agenda written out.... but wasn't prepared for the hands shaking all by themselves! Passed it off as not nerves, but a colouring technique!
    Cheers
