Sitting in the living room thinking what shall I make or do this morning and I get a phone call. "I have some lengths of hardwood are you interested" well 10 minutes later I am in the car on the way out picked up said wood and I am very happy as I now can repair a couple of garden benches.

And I can hear you all saying:nopic:

Well, do you think I would not post any? Each piece is a good 12ft long and 2 1/2" square by the time I cut a little off of each end as it has staple in those areas which are hard to remove. The wood is very heavy I have an idea what it is but what are your thoughts. The white specles on on the wood in one picture are very hard and I suspect could be siliva.

Got no idea what it is but I have some wood that looks like it might be the same sort of thing. Mine was cleared out of an old shed when someone was moving. Had no idea what it was & it was pretty rough & dirty but it felt pretty heavy. Think it may have been a packing crate of some sort at one time lol

The end grain looks a bit like some Keruing I have. If the grain itself looks like it is made up of tiny splinters it probably is.
