I recently moved, and acquired this beast into the bargain. As you can see, it's bristling with all the latest health and safety attachments. I can't seem to find out anything about it though, and the manufacturer's plate that would have been riveted to the side is missing, which isn't helpful

I've a feeling that the yellow is a home paint job, so don't be influenced by the colour, but I wonder if anyone in the hive mind here is able to shed any light on it please?

It's a big interesting beast, Axminster do a stand alone crown guard and extractor fitting....very good cos I have one so I can rebate on my saw.... at least it would be usable.....worst case it would make a good bench and I don't know anyone who hasn't done that at least twice:wink:

I'll take a good look at those, thanks Mark. On the face of it, none of them seem to have a riving knife though.

The branding is unknown to me however I have seen hundreds of similar units, what size motor etc?

Peter.
I don't know the branding either Peter, and as yet, I don't know any of it's specs at all. I haven't had time to poke about inside yet, but you're right, there may be some clues on the motor.

Have you tried paint remover on the riveted plate which is probably etched underneath?
So far Pierre, I haven't found the plate. If it's still present, it's well disguised under all that paint.

PG

Might it be anything to do with

MCLAUGHLIN MCL

Not that can find this actual piece of equipment

Kevin
I've not come across that company before. They look like the sort of people you'd go to for machinery if you wanted to dig the Channel Tunnel. I didn't spot any workshop machinery for mere mortals on their website.

Oh, THAT plate. Why didn't you say?

No, I've already had a good look at that and in fact it's a plate covering a hatch. I imagine the housing was a universal one for various models, and that the hatch is a port for something not supplied with this one.
