Well what a place, I have just had 3.5 weeks in UK with a lot of travelling ie Chichester, the Mumbles, Bolton, Harrogate, High Wycombe, Bolton, Chichester, back home (about 3500 kilometres)!! What a place...…. I have never seen so many roadworks, so much rain, so many middle lane hoggers and daft drivers!! What a relief to get back to my 6 car rush hour!!

Anyway during the journey, I had to get my granddaughter's christening cup engraved and I came across a nice chap called John Edlin in High Wycombe who not only does silver and glass etc engraving but he can do wood laser and cnc engraving as well as sandblasting. Since some of you have asked where and/or how to get this done, I thought I would put his website up, he is also quite reasonably priced, also if you visit him he will show you a design immediately.

Not all of the UK is as tedious as the picture you paint. 2 tractor rush hour here, and maybe the occasional pheasant.

Glad you found the trip useful although with that itinerary you missed all the best bits. Rain is normal but I’m with Phil on the tractors and pheasants front. Mind you the latter have no road sense!

Hello Pierre,

If I were a young lad once more, I would have left the UK years ago. Rotten weather, cronyist Government, processed food, over crowding, small and over priced housing and the list goes on. I did apply for the £10.00 pommie scheme in the 1960 but Mum was not too keen to let me go. Still there are worse countries than this one I suppose; at times it just doesn't feel like home any more.
I'll feel better when the workshop warms up.........:funny:
