Is it me???

A quick look today at statistics, why is it 18 people have voted for POTW and yet just in the last 24hrs 54 members have visited the forum....yes 54 members 2000+ guests but only 18 votes.....
I don't expect to get many comments on this post as it may only be the usual 2% of this forum, but please if you have the time to read this please click 'like'.
What do we have to do to engage the 98 % of 'members' sitting quietly, I don't think anyone has been negatively commented on anything posted turning wise ( although this post may) but ultimately this is 'our' forum to showcase, help, advise and "chat" all things pen related,
Please Please participate!!
Right rant over.....does anyone want either a competition or a penswap organised??:thinks::thinks:
PS. Sorry Phil! (and other mods)

Well Helooooooooo!

Been visiting on occasions to have a look around but not done many pens but do click the "like" button on posts. (Just to say I am here :face:)

I didn't click on POW as I never noticed it in the links on the front page.. But I must pay more attention.

I haven't been as active on the pen turning front lately due to health issues. but guess it doesn't stop me voting

But you are right, how o we encourage the 98% !!!!

Hey Mark, well said.
I vote every time PotW is on, that said, I think that once it disappears from the 'What's New' column people have to search around for it.
I'm happy to do a pen swap if anyone wants one of my pens; what are your thoughts re. a competition seeing as there already is PotW which is undersubscribed?

Mark I always vote, participation in making is down for me. I am over swapping pens from previous lack of real interest and the savage costs of international postage. I read and comment continually, participation is a personal thing mate something that haunts all organised group activity.

Chin up mate. Always a pleasure to see your contributions, pens, experiences.

Kind regards Peter.

Ditto. I was think of "Bowl of the week".I agree that it is sad that not too many people vote. To hold a competition weekly adds a little spice to the hobby and members get to see what is happening. Phil works hard to moderate the competition and would not like to see it die. Most of my ideas originate from there. Well done Mark. I concur.

Cheers

I sometimes don’t get over to the forum for weeks on end, but when I do I try & find POTW and vote if I haven’t missed the closing date, I’ve just bookmarked the POTW section so hopefully I can find it easier in the future :banana:

I like to vote for POTW, it can be a challenge as everyone’s tastes are different but that is part of the fun. I do find it difficult when the choice includes pictures of more than one pen in the same image because whilst one pen in an image one may like the other may not be to one’s taste. Keep them coming I say.

Haven't been around much for quite some time, haven't turned anything really since my heart attack in 2015 - seems I take a bad reaction when in the shed to something woodworking related.
Have only made some photo mounts and the like but have also been busy DIY'ing in the house (she says I have to!!!)
I have voted in POTW recently and am seriously impressed with those pens on display.
Have still got the gear but as I don't use it am undecided whether to sell or keep it - still debating.
