Not enough information Mark.
When you say "hard drive" I presume you mean a full desktop PC system not just the drive?

If so then you first need to check that the system is actually capable of WiFi as many of the older ones don't and would require a dongle or card to facilitate that. If it does then you need to try it before you'll know if your signal is strong enough to reach or is blocked by walls and machinery. If signal too weak it's possible to buy a WiFi extender but it can be a bit hit or miss whether they work or possible to create a network using your electrical sockets but I don't know how that works with Ozzie installations.
What I'd suggest is trying a laptop in the workshop first to check that if you can get enough signal.

In addition to Wi-Fi extenders it is possible to get higher powered Wi-Fi access points that are designed to work out of doors. They would give you extra range but they are not cheap.

The computer doesn't really mater as long as it works with the modem getting/sending the signal. Being rural my signal comes from a 100 or 200 meter high tower a few kilometres away. A dish on the house picks it up and their modem inside sends out a wifi signal for about a hundred foot radius. We can pick it up on the desktop, laptop, iPad and cell phones. When in town it came though the phone line or TV cable to a similar box. If the shed is too far away or signal blocked you'll have to get a booster like the those before me said but I see no reason it shouldn't work. If your cell can pick up wifi signals inside your shed the computer should work just fine as long as you don't melt it in the heat you have there.

I can get wifi to both my mobile and laptop at one end of the shed.
From outside the room with the modem to the shed is 9 m add a couple metres each end, round it up to 15 m max.
I did have a phone line going to the shed, I cut it in one place when I put a new roof on the house.
The phone line was made obsolete when we got the great NBN,network.:sob:

If its a desk top PC the easy way to do it is buy a wifi dongle install the dongle. Use your mobile phone and tether it to the PC. I use my phone to run a lap top a wifi printer and a tablet with out any issues any were that you can get a signal for your mobile.

I had a massive clean up in my shed< started Friday arvo because it was a bit warm on the veranda, nearly 50°C.
So I continued all day Saturday, leaving only my 2 benches, about 6 hrs later, I'm finished, just putting a few thing away back into the metal work area, thinking its nearly beer O clock when a grab kit slipped out of my hand and literally exploded. .:rant::rant: so another couple of hours cleaning the metal work area.
Well look om the bright side my shed is clean.:funny:

But I got the desk top out in the shed, hooked up switched on, all good.:thumbs:
Now what the :vangry::vangry: password.

That looks like it connects via ethernet. However, you can also buy a USB wifi antenna, which will pick up your wifi signal even if your PC isn't wifi enabled
