Sent yesterday for 12 AU dollars express post our fancy Postal Service allows up to 5 kg in their lousy smallish Express Envelopes, the blanks and pen should be down 400 miles in two working days. I queried the changes (includes 100.00 AU insurance and tracking). Most vex thing how would you ever get 5kg in that new envelope, was told it could be bricks etc (no room I say). An ordinary letter is now 1.10 AU. With our 76 Wilma ,me and us thats 150.00 per annum ,chuck in the dollars for the kids twice a year etc getting very interesting. A normal time in Aus is around a week for delivery and often double that. Our messengers use a variety of scary motor bikes on footpaths trollies ,step through electric pushbikes and private contractors for parcel delivery.
