This morning was a little of a sad day for myself and the family, as some may have heard last year i lost my dear old mum (Not to covid) she was 96. But due to covid we could not scatter her ashes and have had 4 attempts. Any way today the RNLI were able to do the scattering at sea for us as she was a fund raiser for the Margate branch.

They welcomed us and explained what was going to happen and included us in the briefing. The Lifeboat reverend then took us to one arm of the harbour and the lifeboat was able to get very close in so that we could see what was happening/ While the ashes were being scattered he said his piece then the crew stood silent(on the boat) as well as all of us on land immediately after the scattering. It was very emotional and the lifeboat crew and all their launch crew were exceptionally good and made the family feel at ease with the proceeding.

The first picture is of the lifeboat being pulled out ready to launch the second does not need any explanation. After all this they then put everything away and went to the remembrance parade which they took part in.

A big thank you to the Margate RNLI

Remembrance day will always have significant memories for you and your family now.
The RNLI have certainly done their bit for your ' dear old mum ' in what must have been a very poignant occasion.
