Done a little bit of jiggling about this morning.

Made a small jig for the drill press.
This jig will keep the blank square and stable whilst drilling.

I hope to put it through it's paces over the weekend.

Feel free to copy it :ciggrin::ciggrin:

It should work with all stock in fairness, Remember that the inside (Movable) panels are at least half the thickness of your thinnest blank and thinner than the outer (Fixed) panels

For round stock do it at appx 75% inside to outside thickness.

Garno I've never drilled a full size blank, I cut mine to the length of tube +a few mm then drill the blank, but had no issue with any size so far.

Interesting diversion of thoughts I do prefer my 4 inch jaws that have vertical vees and through vee shape that cater for so many of my irregular cut blanks as I chase grain.Regular Might I say even sanded blanks are a breeze anyway. Lost my pics but have shown mine so often.
