Looks like I got a thread duplicated, there is a similar one already running, but I've started it so I will finish it..

Cut up Corian to make a mould

Put it on a plate on top of the wood stove to warm up

Tried turning Corain for the first time.. result not perfect but I was rushing in between other jobs

Made dinner

Ate Dinner

Melted down some yellow Vinamold.. Yep got the idea on the PTF..

Poured in to Mould made earlier.. now waiting for it to cool

Finished off the turning which I will give to my grand daughter, she's 3 and she will love it and it will then disappear amongst the other mounds of toys books etc she has

Poured myself a bottle of Rebelleion Blond from the Marlow Brewery..very nice

Took a picture of my turning and here it is. Not brilliant but a good learning excercise

Vinamold Yellow. Not much on You Tube apart from a couple from America which are less than successful, but give some hints. When heating up cut up small chunks in to a glass pan sat in a frying pan, pre heated then left on simmer. Keep stirring and adding chunks as you go along, looks a bit like lumpy custard till all melted. The Former made from Corian (cheers Jim) was pre warmed on a plate sat on the woodburner. Pour slowly and wait for former to cool. Not too shabby for a first attempt and got the amount almost spot on (about a third of the 1kg block. I can think ot other improvements, but lack the tools at the moment and the vinamold was not overcooked like in the yanks you tubes vids, so reusable.

Looks a bit like a slab of butter..
