I have a friend who makes leaded glass decorations and wondered what if ....

So I got some of her off cuts and a tube in mold, painted the tube silver as I thought this would reflect the glass.

Then cast it in Polyester Resin.

Now those of you who struggle to turn PR, you should try it with glass inside.

VERY Light cuts, had a couple break outs, not the PR but the glass breaking. Filled with CA, fair bit of sanding once I got close to the bushes, more CA and then Polishing with Micro Mesh.

On par with turning seashells, Bloody hard work. One I don't think I will repeat unless someone wants to pay me lots of dosh.

But I am very pleased with the results.

So if you think PR is hard, think again ...

Why did I do it .... Just to see if I could

I'm sure Brad wont mind me saying that you shouldn't try this at home without suitable PPE. Glass and lungs don't mix too well. That said, great experiment outside the box Brad.

Beautiful pen but I won't be trying it any day soon. Glass is made to hold beer not ink. Having said that I'm envious of the end result Brad, well done.:thumbs::thumbs:

This falls under the "are you nuts" category. But you proved not nuts but sly like a fox. A+ for creativity and determination. The pen is spectacular.
