I like to use 38 gauge (.410 Bore) Brass Shotshell casings.

My motherinlaw used a 410 cut down to a pistol for use on the farm for snakes, quite a deterrent for them. The father in law read extensive cowboy yarns as we all did those days.

TWo opposites with the lathe turned brass and the cartridge material,very interesting.
