Right I am turning the bowl in the picture below it has to cracks in it marked in black what would be the best thing to do?
My idea was just to turn all the material off the bottom till they dissappear but that very wasteful

Also any one that suggests burning it or putting it in the bin will be off my xmas card list[emoji2] [emoji2]

Fill them with saw dust and then burn a pattern incorporating them I had a vase that had a crack running all the way up it so I filled it and burned a tree on the side

What woody siad.

Or you could just pack and glue.

Or you could open the edges up a wee bit with a chisel, pryrograph round the edges to brown them, then pack, then stain the packing, then glue. Hey presto - two knots.

I don't think metal powders would look anything other what it is - trying make cracks look good metal powder.

From your picture, I reckon those splits will go a long way in Alex.

It is however a good opportunity to say "This is how I dealt with this", rather than "what would you do"?

I would just finish it and except what it is .. Now if it was a burr or a very nice bit of spalting wood it would be a different story .. :whistling:
