Two platters fresh of the lathe this morning

Had a nice few hour in the workshop this morning turned two 8 sided platters one in Oak just over 15" the other in Elm just over 14" they are part of 14 items I am going to make for Horseback and blind veterans I have put up some photos of the Oak one from start to finish apart from the oil finish which I will do over the next 6 days or so

2 Beautiful platers/bowls Woody the figuring in the elm will look stunning after a couple of coats of oil .and all for a great cause :thumbs:

They're real nice them Woody. You'll have to start doing demonstrations on the circuit and maybe a bit of tuition, maybe get KTMp to do you a dvd.:thumbs:

Great stuff Woody. I'm against the room I'm afraid because I especially like the oak one. They're both fantastic, but the oak is exquisite in my opinion. Less is more. The grain and form compliment each other beautifully.

Thanks Phil I am going to make 4 x 8" bowls to go with it and hopefully an 8 sided Tazza if there is enough Oak to do one
