Fresh of the lathe today a 9" x 8 sided Oak Tazza to go with the other 8 sided pieces I made last week I had to improvise with the stem and make it with two pieces as I didnt have a piece wide enough to cover the recess on the bottom of the bowl all I had was a piece of Oak 2" x 1 3/8" so I cut a piece off it 2" x 2" x 1 3/8" and turned the top section with a spigot to fit in and over the recess and another piece of 1 1/4" square for the rest of the stem the photos of it on the lathe are how I glue all the parts together so far it has had 1 coat of Teak oil it should be finished some time next week

When I look at the care attention to detail, skill and downright courage of avoiding all those potential knuckle wrecking corners I understand just what is involved in your finished turning Woody the imence satisfaction is shared with so many indeed all that have the privilige to view and eventually own and admire the work. The end results going to Bills sacred cause is heart warming from over here.So beautiful an object so useful heart of Oak indeed.
