hello folks

here are some workshop pics a couple of ash hollow forms which I have made recently.

A chainsawn piece was put between centres

some spalting visible on the end grain

It was cut in half and mounted in some gripper jaws

hollowed and ready to sand

after sanding I use a protective coat of lemon oil, this prevents mucky finger print marks but doesn't seal the surface so the piece can still dry naturally.

Very nice indeed George. Love the shape. There is some great grain in both pieces.

Great looking work George. You should take a picture with all the pieces you've turned from your lightning Ash tree, I imagine there would be a good few.

thank you for all of your comments

I'll have to do a big collage of pictures Craig as some have already sold, some are roughed out and drying for future boxes and some stuff I cut for platters which are drying.
