My first experience with Indian Rosewood came from the USA when I bought the offcut pieces in figured Maple together with Indian Rosewood.
I figured the use of it wiser than Ebony for the finial it is tough stuff IMHO. The bowl is etherial just so delicate and in my mind perfect.
Totally impressed my mate.

You are certainly right when you say Indian Rosewood is tough Peter !!!
