This is the latest piece I am working on not sure what to do with it in regards to decorating. Thinking of painting the inside a light colour and a dark colour on the outside what do you think. The slots are still being worked on in these photo's

That looks like a very intricate piece of making.

How about staining it, to allow the wood to come through and then clear lacquering it, maybe spraying, to get some uniformity to it?
Shows patience and perseverance !!

Well done

Thank you for the feed back staining is something I would consider but it would mean the same colour inside and out as it will soak through because the wall thickness is only 1.5mm no real grain on this

What’s it going to be Derek?

Just a decorative piece as can be seen not very big

1.5mm thick, I don't think my calipers go that low :funny:

Lovely piece of work Derek, will it take a tea-light or candle? At that thickness, leave it natural and the light will make it translucent.

Thanks guys.

Thank you for all the suggestions candles are out due to the inside not being flat for them to sit

All the slots are now finished and sanded to 600grit the same as what I sanded to before cutting the slots.

You need to buy some more calipers then:face:
