New Year chilly turning, first attempt with Yew. Not as thin as I wanted but pleased to get it finished. 51/2” high and 6” wide.

Fragile thin turning is a great exercise in technical treatment of beaut timber but your use of the Yew spans so many years of growth which is displayed so proud and with depth and excitement.

Well done on a natural edge bowl I always find them satisfying to make. As for the thickness remember that it can be very deceiving, make sure you get an even thickness right down to the bottom otherwise the lower point will look a lot thicker.
