Polymer clay & Resin Key ring.

Wrapped a few tubes in Polymer clay and got round to turning one.

This is a mix of light pull and keyring kit.

Having selected the Opal with the blue lines the finished key ring will happily find its way into a pocket or purse. The ideas are flowing and the finish is superb Paul.

    Cheers Peter.

Another turning I did today. Here I turned away the resin to reveal Polymer. Unfortunately not a great finish on some of the flowers.
In the future I will make sure the top layer will be the resin. You always get a pretty nice finish that way.

I am with you Paul it makes good sense to keep the resin as the finished level . Like the experiments and yes not to proceed with a pen is good common sense otherwise it would be self defeating. You would always remember the problems. When I am happy with a pen I feel free to move on anytime freely, after all personal satisfaction should rule for us to enjoy.

    I agree Peter,

I could of put it back on the lathe and turned a little more but it would of started to get thin and not look right. Easier just to start again.

    Cheers

Hi Paul, the finish in the first video looks superb. When I turn polymer clay I put two or three coats of acrylic lacquer & polish. It seems to work fine.
If it looks right it usually is! My namesake

    Hi Bill,
That is because the resin is the final finish. I prefer not to get to the Polymer clay.
