    Going potty!

Finding time to get on the lathe in this glorious weather is proving a real challenge!

Had a try at an illusion bud vase and a couple of weed pots...

Very nice weed pots. the bud vase is a good try but what spoils it for me is the inner shape is very stepped would have been nice if you could have got that to flow with the outer shape. Keep playing as you will see these things as you progress.
I look back on some of my work and can see where I can improve on them a bit like this pot as the shape is just wrong.

Three beauties Steve. Particularly the weed pots. Love the colours on those.

I love them all . The one just above is awesome. Sat looking at it and can not work out how you did that now my head hurts. Great work.

    Thanks Derek.

It was my first attempt at an illusion pot and I can see where you are coming from. I deliberately wanted a curved outside edge and the inside edge made up of flats - so from a distance they both look curved, but close up its both.... it works in the real world, but the photo doesn't really do it justice. I will give my limited brain cells a workout to see how I can get both curved from a single piece of wood.. nice challenge... always looking to improve and I really appreciate you taking the time to give such constructive comments... the only way any of us can really improve!
    Cheers
