I tried posting this in the General section but could not do it for some reason.

We have all seen scary videos of turning but for me this must be one of the worse, i am not sure if he is trying to commit suicide.
Things i noticed
1/ the adjustments taking place......... with a club hammer
2/ the rest has extensions welded on, at a different height
3/ The gouge looked as though it had a tang into the handle
4/ the ad hoc safety device, switch machine on then switch off mmm.
5/ balancing the work piece, with a double headed axe.
6/ plenty of room and space for the operator.
7/ face guard, a pair of glasses.

what have i missed.

I have to say when i saw it i actually backed away from the screen.
