One of my grand daughters birthdays coming up in a few weeks so thought I better make a start on this. When her first Birthday was approaching my son Kevin & his partner Helen asked me if I could make a number one which they could then place in pictures taken through out the day as a sort of record of her birthday. So the same thing has happened each years since, think I am going to regret doing this number 4 next year though when I come to do a number 5 & obviously have to make it better than the last years number lol.
Just started this so some way to go with it but I will update the thread with pictures as it is done. It will be free standing so needs a stand, today will be lit up with LED light strip & I am thinking the the hole in the centre of the letter could have a little bag/sack attached at the back & be filled ith rice or some oher stuff to thow lol

Something to look forward to each year innovation could prompt a change,if you turn it into a family tradition it can come back to bite you. I like what you are doing. Whatever we do for ours goes out on the family tom tom around the world so fast with facebook etc.Just postage of a card is a dollar these days,in our case 150 dollars postage for our 75 then the makings of the cards, then the money with for the majority. Scary huh.

Peter.

Thanks people, gave it a coat of primer today, cut a piece of acrylic to go behind the word "Today" & sorted out a long enough bit of LED light strip, it's RGB strip so she can change the colours, something to play with lol. Haven't decided yet if I will paint it, cover it with vinyl or a combination of the two.

It's not in place of a birthday card, she will get a birthday card from me as well lol

Forgot to update this, painet the number with att black & put some glittery vinyl on the front, installed the LED's & made a cover for the back, still waiting on Batteries & battery holders to arrive. Had a few other ideas as well but they may have to wait till next year or I will have to undo some of what I have already done.no4 1.jpg
