    Spiral form #2

Follow on from my no-name pieces this is the other part of the spiral.

This time kept the base natural oak and turned the spiral is ebonised and then masked and painted with green interference paint. I also extended the support and added a ball, like the spiral ebonized and this time blue interference paint used.

And a photo of both together

That’s very clever Derek, it looks like something out of this world, the pale Blue dot and a worm hole.
    Kind regards John.

Both look interesting. Is this your take on something you have seen or something you came up with yourself? If it's something of your own was there any particular inspiration for them?

The spiral I saw somewhere else and came up with the overall design myself. I just make what I think the wood wants most of the time. Sometimes i will see something in nature and go with that. There are so many things about us to use for inspiration.

I just make what I think the wood wants most of the time. Unfortunately I am not an Artist so seeing a finished project in my head before I start is something I just can't do, add to that the fact that I don't speak "Tree" so if the wood is trying to tell me what it wants to be I simply don't understand it lol.
Seeing something in Nature or reverse engineering something however are things I can do.
