pup and rabbit carvings - update

Unusually for me I've actually finished something, well as much as I ever will, trouble with carving is that every time you look you want to get the chisels out and cut a little more.

Anyway the little miss will be pleased when she sees the puppy but my missus nabbed the wabbit so I'll have to make the cat she asked for instead. Maybe in a year or two. :thinks::ciggrin:

I wanted to keep them as light as possible as they will darken over time ( lime ) so used a couple of thinned coats of Osmo raw and a light coat of mycrocrystaline wax.

WHAT you mean you are not going to carve all of the fur in:whistling::whistling::whistling:

They are great but as you say you always want to go that little further, sometimes it is knowing when to stop

Been there, done that with a couple of carvings Derek but most people seem to like a smooth finish which is more tactile - apparently! :ciggrin:

Thanks for the kind comments gents, the carvings are nicer in the hand than shown in the photos and I've roughed out a cat this afternoon. Anyone want a precocious granddaughter going spare?
