After seeing Pierre's bandsaw box I thought that I would post these boxes that I'm working on. I have been giving pens to people on the front line fighting the dreaded virus and wanted a little handmade box to present the pens in. A doctor friend is working 88 hours a week currently and will pass some of these boxed pens among the staff when things die down a bit.
I wanted something simple to make but it's difficult to make them for a pen and not make them look like a coffin.
All suggestions/critiques welcomed.
Thanks.

Although the work is very good Alan with very novel ideas, they do seem a bit deep and coffin like. I would Google for images. We do have a very proficient pen box maker on this very forum.

If in doubt leather pouches or felt pouches for the Covid workers. Such kindness mate for these as you call them front line workers, kind thoughts well expressed mate.

Thanks for the feed back John.
I have given the two boxes on the right hand side the flick. I had thought that the box could be re-used as something to hold rings and things. The lids for those particular boxes have an insert so when closed they sit fairly close to the pen. However they still look like coffins.
Back to the drawing board.

I Dunno given what they are intended for I quite like them and odd shaped boxes aren't easy to make either, they certainly are original which must add to the 'thank you value'.:thumbs:
