As mentioned in the thread about melamine lacquer.
There were a number of articles to be pressed together.
I started off with my old screw clamp type device but got frustrated.
So put together this new one from an old lever clamp.
Much more efficient and easier to use.
Base is some black stinkwood.
Happy with the way it looks and works

THe base defies the Stinkwod definition ,overall very useful. You caused me to define that Stinkwood as It has quality IMHO.

Thanks all.
Mark it is definitely not folder tin .
There are 3 types of stinkwood that I know of.
None of them actually stink when working with them
Black is the 'holy' one. Nice to work with and has some yellow and darker streaks.
See the picture.
Very hard and glows with an oil finish.
White is softer and a different species. (the naming is confusing)
Sometimes punky and full of worm holes but lots of character.
Red is very hard but sometimes has annoying soft streaks which are difficult to hide.
Would say it is similar to red gum. Love to get some red gum for peppermills.
Got lots of blue and white gum here.

Phil
