Hi All,

I came across a great article by Mickr on the IAP forum on how to make a closed end pen using a standard pen mandrel.
So I decided to give it a try.

I loved the process and my favourite part is the making and installing of the plug. I am glad I used a small piece of 7mm pen tube as that gives a nice brass ring finish.

Here is the article that I found very useful.

Sorry about the colours used.:-))

To me that is open ended turning or a normalish pen,no challenges there. You can make using a hardwood mandrel face a flat on one side, add a pin made from welding rod etc etc. A closed end is impressive too.

WOW Peter. What has pen of the week done to you? :winking:

You are correct. My description should of read.

It starts off with open end turning and then you just plug one end and you have a closed end.
