The time it took to make was just short of 3 hours. Very simple.
I needed to get into the workshop and make something after a heavy bout of flu.

Sometimes I find that making jigs can be great fun and time does not come into it when making them as long as they work which this does appear as though it will do the job:thumbs:

The Caulking gun is a very simple mod to do, took me around 15 mins to cut, drill and modify one.

The one I have has been used for around 10 years now. (And yes I do make pens so it used regularly) All made for less than £5.

But the one that was posted first is using a toggle clamp if that is what you are after the name of.

I love mine being eye height adjacent to the lathe (a bearing press) I use my swivel chair at the lathe. Like seeing what others use and I too enjoy making and modifying.

I just use a vice. Is there any advantage to having a dedicated pen press?
It's a convenience really. Any method that gets the job done will do, but a pen press makes it quicker and easier than a vice

A swivel chair? I know you're pretty innovative when it comes to jigs and gadgets, but using a swivel chairl as a pen press? - I've gotta see that!
(Only joking Peter)
