    Subject for March 2016 Competition

Here are the suggestions for competitions. If you have any more or I have missed any please list them here. I will then run a poll to see which one people prefer. I will run the poll in 5 days time so that Dan doesn't get to vote unless he looks in, while on his luxury pampering holiday.

    1. Closed end pen(as you have already suggested)

    2. Wood pen using home grown native woods

    3. Acrylic which includes all the plastic and cast type blanks

    4. Any material but must include metal ie copper, brass etc other than the parts of the kit

    5. Wooden pen using exotics

    6. Best design using a slimline kit or even wackiest looking slimline should make the brain cell work

    7. Another idea for a pen comp is to make a pen for arthritis sufferer.

    8. Kitless pen

    9. Hybrid Blank

    10. A pen with a complimentary stand which must incorporate some of the material the pen is made of.

    11. A desk set to include pen, stand and lidded box. The stand to be designed to take both items.

    12. Pen set. A mix of letter opener, pen or pencil, fountain or rollerball, rollerball and pencil, etc, etc..

    13. A pen/pencil incorporated into something else that has a function not related to the pen itself, the pen/pencil must work as a pen.

    14. Best coloured pen where you pick the colour, ie best Red pen or best Black pen for example

    15. Best coloured homemade blank

Don't worry about Dan's vote. I think it's safe to assume assume he'd vote for No8

I think No 7 my reasoning for that is most penturners look for elegance rather than the practical use for the users needs even when it is mentioned that the pen is for a disabled person

This is just another thread for ideas, so in 5 days time, whatever ideas are put forward in this thread will be put to the vote for March's competition subject. That way people will have over a month to prepare and enter or decide they haven't got the time or just can't be bovvered

You could have best coloured pen where you pick the colour, ie best Red pen or best Black pen for example.

I could imagine that one being quite good for those who cast their own blanks or make their own polymer clay blanks.
