Those in country could donate their pens to Bills charity where there is this age factor and need not for sale but as gifts. I propose this and will send my entry to Bill ie the comp for Arthritus Sufferers.

I went in a contest for Arthritis Sufferers a few years ago, the pens were taken an Arthritis place where a group of people with Arthritis and therapists voted for the best design pen.

While that is a good idea, people should not feel obliged to do that, they may be turning one of these pens for someone they know.

Thanks Jim, but it will only be well organised if we get more entries than the last one, so get your entry made

I was with Mark involved in the comp where the entries were judged by Arthritus Sufferers these people gave their reasons that were an eye opener at the time (many years ago), since our competitions are getting firm rules judging is of no consequence for me I enter to support the Forum my main aim I like a challenge. Thank you for offering to assist with colour balance using a white background with my system this would help me why I use the blue cloud background normally as my camera balances to that not using a rest (now termed aid) is a pain in the bum as a pen rolls however it gave me a challenge looking forward to all the twists and turns knowing just what it takes to run anything. My entry will be a one off full of mystery and satisfaction.

I was pleased with 15 entries for the last competition and the one I ran in Jan 2015 also 15, but I wouldn't be doing the best I can if I don't try to increase the number of entries. I can only try to get more entrants, unfortunately Jim has still banned the use of a mini digger or a club.

No more obligation than the winners of the previous competition donating their prizes to charities my proposal was based on a previous competition where the actual pens were numbered in another country at an extra meeting of a group of arthritus sufferers in the USA we entrants all sent our pens to one source, the joy they the actual users had to obtain the pen they could actually use was apparent they then wrote a note to say what they looked for and found great for them the needs were vital and so different.

This competition running will be judged by eye and personal preference as well mostly by non sufferers another novel approach.Long years observing people choose any pen at a stall etc often for someone else very interesting.

Yes, but nobody asked them to donate the prizes they did it because they wanted to. If you wish to start a charity appeal, please start a new thread this is not really the place.

We will be judging this the same way we judge all Competitions, each member has one vote. I don't know of any arthritis groups, but I can see that it would be beneficial to have the judging done by experts in the subject. This competition will run as planned, but if anybody who knows a group of Arthritis Sufferers wishes to run another one later in the year, please let the committee know you will be more than welcome.
