    September Competition

With September creeping up on us and me away for a good chunk of it, I thought I would look at the up and coming comp.

It says September: A working pen/pencil made into something that has a function not related to the pen/pencil itself..

Now being a little bit more than thick, are we going to be making something like a tin opener you can write with?

Im open to tips, hints, tricks and ideas as this one has got me totally flummoxed....

Me: For the first time in my life, things seem to be getting better.....
Life: LOL, give me a second!

Make a whip with the pen in the handle so you can keep count of how many whippings you give the kids so you can tell the judge it was not excessive

I don't have a photo but I made my daughter and granddaughter some wands as you can see here and here and my granddaughter asked if I could make it into a pen, which I did.

You could do worse than make a pen that is also a tin opener. Have a look at this.

How about a bottle opener with a pen at least whilst you opened your beer you can write it on the shopping list for the other half to get when she goes shopping

The very idea of coaching how to or where to is like the Olympic games just use what you have the way you see it, no influences from anyone. Other wise it gets boring or seem impossible. The key is participation, not like you have to spend thirty dollars to post an exchange etc over stressing how busy you are etc does not wash. Like the man said just do it talk about is unneccessary. Any questions on the rules etc to Peter. Grossly overstated Thimple competition send in a pic.

This comp is so open ended look forward to your entries.

    Peter.

I am wondering if the criteria for this competition is a little narrow "A working pen/pencil made into something that has a function not related to the pen/pencil itself" would it be better if it was worded "A working pen/pencil made into something that has a function not related to the pen/pencil itself or made to look like something else other than a pen/pencil".

For example this pen is made to look like a bolt, but it wouldn't function as a bolt.

    What do you think?

I like "made to look like something else other than a pen/pencil" better. So as I read it we are disguising the pen/pencil as another object.
Now I have a few ideas, cheers Peter
