    Back in the saddle

    These are the first pens I’ve made since November, & I enjoyed getting back in the saddle. I sneaked an olive pen in with the acrylics.

    More from last couple of days

    Also managed to turn these acrylics too. From left to right a Zeta with a Picasso blank from Beaufort Ink. An Epsilon with a blank I cast last weekend. Another Zeta this is with a blank supplied as part of my mystery box.

    Use of a polish on acrylics?

    Just wondering if anyone uses a polish on acrylics after using micro mesh? Have read some use car polishes but does it improve the finish?

    I've just purchased a collet chuck for doing some small turnings and tried it out by turning a pen with it just for a bit of fun. For the nib and ink I used the bits out of an old biro. The paints are metallic acrylics, borrowed from my wife's mountain of arty crafty stuff. George

    Are all acrylic's the same in their manufacture only i have one that seems to be very hard or gritty.
